Led by Essex on Tour, Essex County Council
presents ‘A History of Jazz in Essex' an exhibition that displays the
jazz musical prowess of Essex from years gone by.
Launching
at Chelmsford City Library on Saturday 12 October, the exhibition will
be touring the county for over two years until December 2015.
After
months of research and interviews delving into the musical background
of Essex, ‘A History of Jazz in Essex' is an exhibition displaying a mix
of musicians, promoters and DJ's, all of which have in some way played
their part in the history of Essex jazz.
Funded by
the Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council England and Essex County
Council the launch of the exhibition at 12noon this coming Saturday will
feature live music from the Digby Fairweather Premier Quartet (with
special guest Mick Foster) and the Essex Jazz Youth Orchestra.
