Rembrandt Frerichs on tour in Europe

With a successful 2012 just behind him, with a tour through India, Russia, Algeria, Germany, Spain and Turkey, jazz pianist Rembrandt Frerichs has some exciting concerts coming up this spring. This week he is touring with international group Levantasy: today, on Valentine's day, they will collaborate with a classical orchestra in the beautiful BASF concerthall in Ludwigshafen. The music of Levantasy will be in dialogue with the music of classical obioist Ramon Ortega, in an exciting musical ping-pong between the two groups.

The Rembrandt Frerichs trio welcomes Boy Edgar Prize-winner bassist Tony Overwater to the team. The trio, with Tony and drummer Vinsent Planjer, is featured on European festivals where they will present some of their newly composed music, which will be recorded this summer for Challenge Records. Besides the jazz festivals and clubs, the Rembrandt Frerichs trio is also invited to play on some classical stages and festivals, like festival Classique in The Hague and the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ. More about this special project will follow the trio is currently busy doing research and studying.

The trio will be cooperating with some interesting guest musicians during a tour to the Cairo Jazz festival in March, Algeria in May and later to Spain and Switserland.
