"I would like to thank the cooperation of FSU School of Dance studios and music director Dan Smith allowing me to record on their recently acquired Model D 9' concert grand Steinway. The day of the recording, July 14, 2018, I got word of my church Pastor (who I play piano for on Sunday service) had passed away on his 57th birthday. It was quit unexpected and emotional to hear of this news the day I scheduled the recordings. I used the bottled up emotions as an inspiration for the music. I would like to dedicate this CD to Rev. Jerry Dodson. He is in a wonderful place now.
I'm also dedicating this CD to the love of my life, Gloria who puts up with hearing me in the studio arranging, mixing and editing the music over and over again. I added a bonus track for her, Scott LaFaro's composition Gloria's Step." ~ Gary
