Marco Lo Russo at World Accordion Day 2018 in Sweden
On May 6th, World Accordion Day 2018 is celebrated. In Sweden, Marco Lo Russo will be protagonist, with his Made in Italy concept: exporting Italian art abroad, as has already happened in other countries (Mexico, Cuba, USA, Africa, Canada, etc.).
Marco Lo Russo, accordionist of Oscar Winner Nicola Piovani, for the soundtrack of the film Life is Beautiful by and withRoberto Benigni, is a composer and producer as well as a professor in Conservatory of Music. Among the successes of the2017/2018 season the 7 Days finalist at Eurovision Song Contest 2017, the realization of the soundtrack of the film CityZendirected by Ruggero Gabbai, broadcast on SKY TV, and the composition of the Ave Maria dedicated to Pope Francis.
The World Accordion Day 2018, on the occasion of the 180th anniversary of the instrument, was established in 2009, with the support of the Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) and Accordions Worldwide. The accordion was, in fact, patented in Vienna, Austria, by Cyrillius Demien on May 6, 1829.
