Back in 1986, some of Philadelphia's best Jazz Fusion musicians got together under the guidance of Sun Ra/Mongo Santamaria alumnus, percussionist Omar Hill, and recorded this now classic combination of Brazilian and Afro Cuban rhythms entitled Caribbean Breeze. What ensues are some of the most soulfully mellow yet melodic sounds ever heard. Hill supervised much of the arrangements, while Fambrough, a truly great jazz composer's work is featured here to great effect on two of the titles. Flautist Art Webb is the main soloist, and contributes 2 of the titles, while guitarist Monette Sudler contributes one as well. Vibraphonist Khan Jamal is also heavily featured in this real Philly-family affair.
