Montreal group B`s Bees is a hard swinging JAZZ outfit that brings a high energy interpretation to the music of the past masters, such as: Art Blakey, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Wayne Shorter. Their first show was at the Montreal International Jazz Festival where they wowed over 800 people. They frequently have some of Montreal’s finest talent play with them: Dave Turner, Fraser Hollins, Gary Schwartz, Al McLean, Dave Grott and more…..
In November 2014, B's Bees went into the studio to record their first album. The album, which is comprised of all original compositions by various members of the group, was released in the Spring of 2015. Their self-titled EP reached #1 on the 101.5FM CIBL Montreal’s Jazz & Blues chart, and stayed in the top 10 for 8 weeks.
For their Spring 2017 North American tour, B’s Bees is excited to feature special guest Masashi Usui, a prominent Japanese saxophonist, for their Canadian dates. Usui will bring his experience of performing with Fukushi Tainaka (Dr. Lonnie Smith, Lou Donaldson) and Mark Taylor (Kenny Barron) to the stage to make this tour a memorable event.
They will also be joined for some of their U.S. performances by Washington D.C. native Elijah Jamal Balbed, as well as Grammy-award winning saxophonist Kebbi Williams.
