POLAND: Tomasz Sroczyński Trio ‎– Primal (For Tune 2016)

Primal is music built upon a single note and its harmonics, with quarter- and half-tone progressions. Aleatoric sketches by the leader, in reaction with three groups of instruments. Each part is a separate existence, which arises anew, gathers momentum, decelerates naturally and dies off. The atonal progressions finally reach their culmination and resolve. It’s youthful energy that reaches the most basic instincts and behaviors. Emotions are the most important element here.
