(1) PRINCE…& ME!… :-)
Here
is a short clip (lasting about three-and-a-half minutes) of me playing
along with a track from a great Prince album that I really, REALLY like
(The Hits/The B Sides, a compilation of his hit singles and fan
favourites):
This
clip also demonstrates a Wm. S. Haynes "Classic Fusion O" flute,
combined with a Guo "Dynalance" headjoint (both of which are great
pieces of gear and not outrageously expensive…and which, for me,
definitely do the job!… :-)
(2) OSCAR PETERSON - "C JAME BLUES" - LIVE IN DENMARK
Here
is Oscar delivering a generous encore with his classic trio (Ray Brown
on bass and Ed Thigpen on drums) from a concert in Denmark (1964). This
is a great performance and includes some great shots of the band in
"interaction". Here is the link (and the clip is about nine minutes):
(3) "BIRDIE RICH" - A GENUINELY UNIQUE DRUM SOLO!
This
is a really interesting 12-second video clip of a percussion solo
tapped out on a frying pan by a parrot (…complete with a "Shave and a
haircut, two bits" cadence at the end!…) It also prompted a couple of
neat quips on FaceBook, including "Cockatootatoo" and "Polly Metric"!
