Gwilym Simcock Spring Dates

Once again the list of dates coming up this spring is as eclectic as ever. There are so many great projects that Gwilym is involved in.

TODAY he is at the 606 club in Chelsea with the great bassist Laurence Cottle and ace drummer Ian Thomas. Next week he us playing with two different orchestras. He is in Oxford and London with The Orchestra of St John playing Bach like you have never heard it before with the great Russian bassist Yuri Goloubev, reeds player extraordinaire Klaus Gesing and Israeli drummer Asaf Sirkis. On Saturday Gwilym, Yuri and drummer Martin France join forces with the Northern Sinfonia with Gwilym's own project Instrumation as part of Gateshead's 10th International Jazz Festival.
Gwilym will be playing solo in Liverpool and in duo with the wonderful Polish pianist Leszek Mozdzer in Wroclaw and with former Sting pianist Jason Rebello at the Bath Festival. On 1st May he will be appearing with the Delta Saxophone Quartet as part of their brand new project "Crimson!" dedicated to the great British prog rock band King Crimson whose drummer was Bill Bruford. Gwilym played with Bill Bruford for a number of years in his band Earthworks.
Gwilym is playing at the Europa Jazz Festival in Le Mans with saxophonist Celine Bonacina and there is a world premiere of his new work for piano, saxophone and string quartet coming up at Wigmore Hall with the Heath Quartet mid May where Gwilym will play with the wonderful Trish Clowes.
