Marsalis will be performing with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and the Chorale Le Chateau, all conducted by Damien Sneed.
Marsalis, who received the 1997 Pulitzer Prize for his composition "Blood on the Fields," has won both classical and jazz Grammys for his trumpet playing. He's released close to 80 recordings and received more than 30 honorary college and university degrees.
He's the co-founder and artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center and music director of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. One of his greatest achievements has been to facilitate the wide recognition of jazz on a par with classical music. His influence around the world and on individual musicians is incalculable.
