Mercury prize nominated pianist Kit Downes' third album as leader captures the magical and fantastic through earthy and grounded ideas. The first of Downes' albums to be recorded entirely with a quintet, it develops the ensemble arranging begun with Quiet Tiger whilst also having the raw urgency of a live recording without the use of editing.
