MOVIE/USA: Update: "The Composer" with Matthew Shipp and Barb Januszkiewicz

Dear Donors from our Kickstarter site!
As you know our Kickstarter campaign successfully ended with making our goal of $18,000 pledged from over 100 backers! We could not make this film without your support, you all have our sincere thanks. It has been months now and we been in the long and complex task of creating this film.
We are so appreciative that our support base extended well beyond our friends and families. That in itself is a testimony that art patrons and jazz supporters ""got" the conceptual idea about the power of music and how it can transform even  ivory and wood. We filmed during the winter. The entire musical score was composed by Matthew Shipp. We started logged materials in the spring. Barbara during this time also worked on a new group of paintings while Matthew played on tour. Both of them very busy yet they were able to start the real editing during the summer.
Our spring /summer time slot came with problems from being off the grid because of lost power due to incredibly large and violent storms. The unbelievable happened. Our entire computer system crashed. We are very grateful to the great guys at the apple store who found a way to save the film, because only 10% of the data was lost. Currently,The Composer is in the final stages of editing. The music for the project is so good that if there is a way to release it in a cd we might just do that.
Our film has been on target, as an artistic film rather than a documentary profiling an artist, this film traces the development of noise and sound into compelling music, the building of a piano and it's waiting to be used, wanting to come alive. There are multiple points of views in the story itself, including when the camera lens gives you the impression that you yourself could be the piano player. Part of the film illustrates the piano's perspective, waiting to take a breath,to come alive. It shows the suspense of how the piano waits for the moment where it is played, and given a purpose for being. The Composer project highlights pure talent, rather than personality, showcasing the music, rather than the life, of one of the hottest Jazz pianists living today,
Barbara's volunteer staff is now booking venues to showcase the conceptual fusion film about the power of what music can do. Soon another web site will be up to display all showing times and places. Please feel free to contact us if you have a suggestions for places that we can showcase this project. This is the exciting part.
Also Barb had the wonderful fortune to be welcomed by the American Jazz Museum as a multimedia/ new-media artist mainly due to her work with good friend and mentor, Dave Liebman, NEA 2011 lifetime jazz master. The American Jazz Museum celebrates and exhibits the experience of jazz through research, exhibition, education, and performance. We are thankful
for them believing in us and offering us their support.
Matthew Shipp has had a great year playing concerts around the globe, and been releases new music. All About Jazz has a two part review of his life work, see link below.
There has been many trials and tribulations. Now we are delighted to announce that it is looking great and almost done!
Again, everyone, we cherish your support and we feel fully encouraged to started our launch our film into the world! THANK YOU SO MUCH for believing in this important project. We hope our film sparks debate and discussion about the power of music and what creative vision is. The role of the piano and the composer is this film was to show that anything could be possible and to offer a conceptual interpretation of the power of jazz.
Here is our trailer for you to enjoy. As promised everyone who supported us will have their name listed at the end of the film.
Thank you so much for your continued support, and we cannot wait to finally showcase our masterpiece!
