CANADA: Jazz and classical acts intersect in new series AEOLIAN HALL

he jazz acts are in place and the classical performers will follow.
Aeolian Hall's new Intersection: Jazz with Classical Series opens March 18. Setting the format are London-raised jazz pianist and singer-songwriter Alex Ernewein and Western Don Wright music faculty piano student Vladimir Soloviev.
Jazz players confirmed for the series are Toronto singer Alex Pangman, Canadian-raised, NYC-tied sax player John Tank, London pianist Bryan Gloyd, Toronto sax player Tara Davidson and London jazz vocal group After Four. Classical acts are being booked in four concerts still to be detailed fully.
The series was inspired by Aeolian executive director and classical pianist Clark Bryan's love for both music genres.
Bryan was also influenced by a conversation pianist Chick Corea, the American pianist who played a brilliant concert at Aeolian with jazz and classical compositions two years ago Saturday.
Among the most intriguing bills in the series is the Bryan-Gloyd concert on May 6. Partners off-stage, the two celebrated their marriage at Aeolian Hall last year.
