Vincent Peirani - Gunung Sebatu (Linn Records 2011)

The first solo album of Vincent Peirani, a rising star of the french jazz scene, who creates a poetic atmosphere.

Sebatu is a village in the heart of Bali I'm touchingly fond of. I met some extraordinary people there, some important Gamelan musicians (Gamelan is the traditional orchestra there).  This piece is for them - just a few notes and words about the feelings and emotions I experienced by being alongside them, there on the largest archipelago in the world, tiny bits of land surrounded by the sea, between rice fields and volcanoes, in Sebatu, a diamond set in the midst." Vincent Peirani
This album is the first solo album of Vincent Peirani a first class accordionist playing with major european musicians in every field (jazz, classical, world) such as Daniel Humair, Laurent Korcia, Roberto Alagna, Les Yeux Noirs. His music is made of all these influences crossing Police, french musette, indonesian song. with the saxophonist Vincent Lê Quang,
A first record by a rising star of the french jazz scene - a poetic atmosphere taking us from the Paris Musette, to a Police reprise and a beautiful indonesian song.
