USA, Charleston, SC: Lee Barbour CD release at The Pour House on 2/17/12

The long-awaited album, ‘nonfiction’, by Lee Barbour will make its debut at The Pour House on 2/17/12. It is Barbour’s fourth album, but first as a bandleader; featuring eight original compositions and one cover. Barbour called on the talents of many local and nationally known musicians to bring his music to life, including: Jeff Sipe (Jazz is Dead, Leftover Salmon) John Ellis (Charlie Hunter, Norah Jones) Kebbi Williams (Derek Trucks, Outkast) Quentin Baxter, Ron Wiltrout, Gerald Gregory and Jake Holwegner. The music on ‘nonfiction’ is described as “indie-jazz”, combining elements of indie rock, jazz, groove, and a touch of the avant-garde. It is a blend of composition and improvisation that is rarely heard on the jam band scene…until now.
