INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed Italian jazz outfit, the Tinissima Quartet is billed to perform at this year's edition of the October International Jazz Festival. The Italian Embassy-organised festival is set to take place in Harare from October 7 -16The group will perform only one concert in Zimbabwe after which they travel to other countries in the region. The group’s performance will feature their critically acclaimed works which include X (suite for Malcolm) inspired by the life and work of the American civil rights activist Malcolm X.

The Missouri State University jazz studies program is co-sponsoring the 2nd annual Springfield Jazz Festival Sept. 23-24. The weekend festival will feature local, regional and international jazz artists as well as an art competition for high school.
