Italy has always expressed great talents who know how to reinterpret and revitalize the “swing” as a few other jazz musicians in the world. Here, the ensemble consists of some of the best of the Italian scene today. The genre expressed in this album is genuine mainstream. You can feel the joy, the vitality and pleasure of interplay as in the best tradition. Often, contemporary music has lost these components: the mastery of this quintet has been able to recover and return these ingredients, as time did not happen. Swing, pleasure of meeting, a sparkling musical phrasing and even an excellent technique, illuminate this live session. Listening to this record is a very pleasant experience. Two standards ( “Bensha swing” by T. Monk and “Body and Soul” by J. Green) along with some original songs make this recording (Live Panic at the jazz club) a disk of crystalline class.
