The theme of the 21st JSF is "The Planet of Music – The Earth"
As human beings, we have put a variety of emotions into song and by extension music. We managed to convey joy, sadness, our wishes, things we long for, dreams, our aspirations, disappointments, grief, anger, love, grace, thanks, and respect through our music.
Furthermore, this music has become the common language with which we overcome our many different borders and our many different languages across the passage of time to express our love for one another.
The JSF, using this music as our common language, is a festival where music is played surrounded by nature, where through music both the performers and the people listening to their performances experience the joy of sharing with one another.
As we look forward to "The Planet of Music – The Earth", we the organizers of the JSF, want to send the message that the earth is full of music to the entire country and to the world through this festival. We believe the transmission of this message starts right here in Sendai.
