India: Five-day music fest at the Mehrangarh Fort

CHENNAI: Jodhpur RIFF is back this year to enthrall music lovers from October 12 to 16. Now in its fifth year, the five-day festival will showcase exceptional traditional music of Rajasthan, as well as unique collaborations between Indian and International performers. The festival is a heady combination of folk, jazz, Sufi and contemporary music that transcend global boundaries.
The Mehrangarh Fort, voted Asia’s Best Fortress by Time Magazine, sets the stage. The festival will bring together over 150 musicians and performing artists from across Rajasthan and around the world to celebrate their musical heritage and create new sounds through innovative collaborations as well as interactive daytime sessions for school children, their families and visitors.
Jodhpur RIFF includes performances by master musicians from local Rajasthan communities on the Living Legends Stage, sensational headline acts showcased each night on Main Stage, cutting-edge global dance grooves that will keep the party going late into the night at Club Mehran, Dawn and Dusk devotional concerts performed at sunrise and sunset, and Interactive Folk Sessions where the audience has the opportunity to learn about this genre of music and instruments from the musicians, themselves.
The festival is open to the public. Donor passes will be available on www.jodhpurfolkfestival.org, beginning August 18. For details, visit www.jodhpurfolkfestival.org or email info@jodhpur folkfestival.org.
