Gerald Beckett-Standard Flute (Summit Records 2011)

Critically acclaimed and one of the top flute players in the modern jazz scene, Gerald Beckett is a skilled and versatile improviser within the jazz tradition. Standard Flute, his fourth CD and third for Summit, is the first one in which he is the only horn. On Standard Flute, Gerald Beckett had an opportunity to interpret a variety of standards, most of which are not all that well known. Gerald Beckett is heard throughout in top form, stating melodies with a beautiful tone and displaying fluency and creativity during his solos. His playing throughout Standard Flute helps to consolidate the flute in modern jazz and is full of bright moments.

Omer Avital - Suite of the East (Anzic Records 2012)

Bassist/composer Omer Avital defines the words creative and prolific, with more than a half dozen new recordings of original music released over the past several years. Suite Of The East is the end result of a month-long residency at Smalls (in Greenwich Village, NYC), and a guerrilla recording session, that took place during the spring of 2006. At this time Avital had a collection of original compositions that were written towards the end of his three-year stay in Israel, and completed in New York City. The compositions naturally belonged together, linked by a common thread that runs through all of the tunes.

Glenn Frey - After Hours (Universal Music 2012)

Six-time Grammy Award winner and founding member of The Eagles, Glenn Frey will release After Hours, a collection of classic love songs from the 40's to the present, on May 8th from Universal Music Enterprises. After Hours, his sixth solo album and first since 1995 is a total departure taking him in a whole new direction. The two-and-a half year project was developed out of Frey's passion for the songs and sound of such artists as Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, and Dinah Washington. The exquisite collection of songs include 40's classics such as "Sentimental Reasons" and "My Buddy," and favorites from some of his contemporaries, such as Brian Wilson's "Caroline No" and Randy Newman's "Same Girl" as well as the added spice of the American standard, "Route 66." Frey collaborated with co-producers Richard F.W. Davis and Michael Thompson, both members of The Eagles touring band, to make the record possible.

Born on Friday the 13th in Washington, D.C. and raised in Laurel, Maryland, Jeff Aug is a cool underground guitarist who has been living at the foothills of the Alps in Southern Germany for the last 14 years.  He has toured with Allan Holdsworth, Soft Machine, Johnny A., Albert Lee, and has performed shows with Jawbox, Shudder To Think, and Ice-T & Bodycount with his old band.  He's worked with John Stabb from Government Issue, has been touring and recording with Anne Clark for the last 10 years, and has been touring as a solo guitarist for the last 20 years.  Jeff can also be heard on the new Atari Teenage Riot album Is This Hyperreal? released in June 2011 (Dim Mak Records / Digital Hardcore Records).  He has also set the world record for the "most concerts performed in different countries in 24 hours" twice (2009, 2012).

It´s been 3 years, 1 world record, 2 tours , 4 European tours with Anne Clark, 1 tour as support for Soft Machine, countless solo headline performances across the U.S. and Europe (including Fusion Festival, Krach am Bach Festival, Klangbad Festival, and others), and 6 major features in guitar magazines worldwide (including Gitarist, Guitar, Guitar Player, Akustik Gitarre, Guitar Acoustic) since JEFF AUG released his last solo album Living Room Sessions in 2009.  After a gruelling year of recording and touring which included tours with Soft Machine and Johnny A., as well as a performance supporting John Kadlecik (Furthur) in the U.S., Jeff Aug released his 5th solo acoustic instrumental fingerstyle guitar album Wedding Song on Friday, 02.March 2012.

It is a brave lead guitarist who has Jeff Aug open for him. Playing what can only be described as high-speed country funk, he shreds his way up and down the strings with breathtaking speed. He also provides his own percussion, striking the body of the instrument hard enough to sound like a bass drum. This is extreme acoustic
