Appaloosa : Il primo album di nostra produzione. Cd audio tradizionale + Files Flac 24bit a soli 15 euro

Inoltre vi ricordiamo l'offerta in corso
Cd di Blues On The Moonbeams On The Menu + Files Flac 24bit o Mp3   ( alta definizione ) : 15 Euro
Per chi non ama la musica liquida
Cd di Blues On The Moonbeams On The Menu + Cd Compilation etichetta Appaloosa : 15 euro
Ora tocca a voi.

VOCALIST ROBIN MCKELLE DEBUTS NEW WORKING GROUP, THE FLYTONES, ON LATEST ALBUM, "SOUL FLOWER," AVAILABLE JUNE 11 VIA OKeh

VOCALIST ROBIN MCKELLE DEBUTS NEW WORKING GROUP,
THE FLYTONES, ON LATEST ALBUM, SOUL FLOWER,
AVAILABLE JUNE 11 VIA OKeh

Album Available as a Digital-Only Release

Projects Presents a Contemporary
Blend of Soul and Rhythm & Blues

Featuring Special Guest Appearances
by Lee Fields and Gregory Porter
"Not since Dusty Springfield invaded Memphis has a white female
singer dished up so flavorful a bucket of soul." - JazzTimes

OKeh will release vocalist Robin McKelle's label debut, Soul Flower, as a digital-only release on June 11, 2013. The project, which consists of a contemporary blend of soul and rhythm & blues and mostly original tracks, debuts her new working group, Robin McKelle & The Flytones.

While McKelle is best known for her previous jazz and solo work, including placing third at the 2004 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocals Competition, this project is the fruit of McKelle's long exposure to gospel, soul and blues. "It's the record I've always dreamed of making," reflects McKelle, who went into the studio with the aim of avoiding today's retro tendencies. "I love that music so much that I couldn't see myself doing something 'in the style of...' I grew up listening to Nina Simone and Gladys Knight. I sang their classics and what I enjoy most today is building my own repertoire in that same soulful vein."

McKelle insisted on recognizing her associates on this album, even down to the cover credit: Robin McKelle & The Flytones. This collective achievement with writers Sam Barsh and Derek Nievergelt (whom also plays bass on the album) is a soulful joint effort, which delivers a fresh and cohesive sound.

The project's collaborative nature also includes joint ventures: two duets, two encounters overflowing with emotion. On the first, she teams up with a soul veteran who, after a long absence, has returned to the limelight over the last few years: Lee Fields. "When I was involved in jazz, there was all this revival - Raphael Saadiq, Sharon Jones, I was aching to join in. Among all the artists was one I admired more than anyone, especially after My World. Fields has great presence and sincerity, so in the studio when we covered the Bee Gees' 'To Love Somebody,' I felt such a thrill. His voice was so powerful it covered mine."

Another high point on the album is "Love's Work," an original number sung with Gregory Porter, a rising star of vocal jazz whose reputation has spread beyond the jazz world. "I saw him at a club in New York. He has an impressive voice and a real sensitivity too," explains McKelle. Their duet is an unusual exercise; the aim wasn't just to record a performance, but to build up a genuine connection for the space of a few minutes to tell a story. "That story is about a couple's relationship when they have to stand firm and keep going when things get bad."

Throughout the album, McKelle's voice unfailingly and expertly masters new dynamic and fragile tones. "Don't Give Up" is deliberately measured, like a classic blues number. A Wurlitzer and lazy organ accompany the singer's amorous lament. On the very catchy "Change" - a gospel shuffle brought to the boil by drums and organ - her sincerity and commitment take us back to the sixties heyday of the protest song. Backed by Benjamin Stivers' keyboards, the vocalist's pen dips lucidly into the ink of today's gloomy news on "So It Goes." The singer shows great insight when it comes to affairs of the heart also, as on "Tell You One Thing" brims with Ray Charles-style orchestrations and backing vocals. The piano and guitar solos are reminiscent of the musician's jazz backgrounds. "Fairytale Ending" has a vintage, very northern-soul flavor reminiscent of the legendary productions heard back in the sixties in clubs in the North of England: a blend of Motown and Stax. McKelle ends the session on a glamorous jazz note, with a cover of "I'm A Fool To Want You."

During her singing career, McKelle has been through more than one renaissance. She came to the public eye with a first album called Introducing Robin McKelle (2006), followed by Modern Antique (2008) - two big-band swing sessions. Another turning point came at the start of 2010, with Mess Around, breaking with a certain classicism and exploring themes borrowed from different songwriters - Leonard Cohen, Doc Pomus, Willie Dixon and The Beatles - but especially marking a new aesthetic approach in the form of a return to roots for the native of Rochester, New York.

Influenced by her mother, a member of the church choir, the youngMcKelle began to show her talent in R&B groups from the age of fifteen. After taking up the piano and French horn, she studied jazz at the University of Miami before attending and graduating from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Moving to the west coast, she regularly performed as a backing singer with Michael McDonald and Bebe Winans. She subsequently went back to the Berklee College Of Music as a teacher and entered the Thelonious Monk competition in Washington, winning third place in 2004.

Ultimately, McKelle enters a new chapter in her eventful history without looking back. "From time to time, I think about it, but it's all a long way off now. I feel as if I'm beginning something new with Soul Flower and I'm looking forward to winning the public over on stage." Indeed, when she performs live, Robin McKelle's singing talent takes on a whole new dimension.

RUSSIA: FANCYMUSIC New Releases

Live People Band - MovementIf you listen to contemporary jazz, then you already know that the "future happens now" - in jazz music it feels the best. Ensemble "Live People Band" is committed to the concept of contemporary jazz idiom in their debut album "Movement". However, as it should be in any serious case, their roots of jazz are from its golden era 60's - 70's: the influence of ethnic psychedelics of Alice Coltrane and innovations by Miles Davis.

Goat's Notes - Fuzzy Wonder“Fuzzy Wonder” is music without borders.

What is the place of Goat’s Notes in the Russian new music scene? Not so much in the new improvised music or free jazz although free improvisation remain one of the main features of their music. It is rather that their music has been inspired by the ethno-jazz-rock-folk-avantguard scene of Moscow, something like a Russian version of Zappa’s “Mothers of Invention”.

After the great success of the "MoonJune Compilation: $1 and then $2 min. donation for 60 tunes" promotion launched in November of 2012, and as well Mr. MoonJune Recommends, Volume 1 promo compilation launched in December of 2012, I'm now ready to offer another selection of extraordinary sounds from around the world: USA, Austria, Switzerland, UK, Israel, Uruguay, Denmark, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, Norway, Finland, Ghana, Poland, Belgium, Greece.
With this new compilation I am saluting the guitar legend and one of my all time favorite jazz-rock guitarist, APOSTOLIS ANTHIMOS of the SBB hall-of fame, and my drear fraternal friend and the ultimate XXI century guitar maestro ALEX MACHACEK. I am including again the wonderful music of
MARK WINGFIELD, JOHN SUND (ACOUSTIC SENSE & with AYI SOLOMON), NICOLAS MEIER, MICHEL SAJRAWY, BELEDO (THE AVENGERS feat. ADAM HOLZMAN, LINCOLN GOINES, KIM PLAINFIELD), ERNESTO HOLMAN and introducing now DIALETO, UZVA, ECSTASY PROJECT, SING SING PENELOPE, EVIL GIRAFFE ON MARS, DOMINIQUE VANTOMME ROOT, SEAN WAYLAND, LUZ DE RIADA, MATTO MOLTO, TASSOS SPILIOTOPOULOS and MoonJune's THE WRONG OBJECT.
I recommend You to listen all streamed tracks, check info on each track and I encourage You to google about each artist and discover more. It's worth exploring.
Over the years I have received more than 1,500 albums from artists all around the world soliciting a CD release, trying to find a proper 'home' for their projects. I've done my best to answer every single solicitation, and to listen to every single album, although I must admit that some of the listening was done in 'fast-forward mode.' I suggested to some of the artists that they approach other labels that might be more appropriate for their music, or that they self-release their albums, and some, simply I couldn't afford and they are now on bigger labels.
"Mr. MoonJune Recommends - Volume 2" is the second in a series of 25-track compilations drawn from these submissions plus few tunes from few of my friends, legendary musicians or musicians with whom I have worked with. It features one track from each CD that over the past few years I have wanted, even yearned, to release on MoonJune but couldn't for a variety of reasons: lack of time, the fact that the label can only release a limited number of albums per year, I'm busy on tour with a band, or involved with my other two businesses. Except for a few musicians who are known to fans of progressive music, most of these artists are only known in their own country or region, and some not even in their own city; however, they are all musicians whom I respect and whose music I dig. The whole purpose of this compilation is to expose these musicians' recently recorded music to the constantly growing MoonJune audience, and also to pay due respect to their artistry. Each track comes with complete information about the artist and the album from which the tune was selected, and most importantly a direct link to the artists' sites where those albums can be purchased.
All the featured music represents in some way the philosophy of MoonJune Records - progressive music exploring the boundaries of jazz, rock, avant, ethno, and the unknown - and anything in between.
In the world we live in, with its oversaturated music market, rapidly disappearing record stores, and a record business that ignores real musicianship, and with fewer and fewer outlets where quality progressive music can be exposed, it's becoming more and more difficult for artists to be noticed unless they have a well-known legacy or they tour frequently and intensively, which many are unable to do. This compilation (the first of many) is my tribute to these musicians and contribution to their cause. I hope that all who download and listen to this remarkable music can appreciate the artistry of these musicians and their determination to keep great music alive.
Note that the tunes chosen for this compilation do not necessarily represent the best tracks from the featured CDs; they're purely my personal choice.
Enjoy.
Leonardo Pavkovic
Mr. MoonJune
(Note: this compilation does not include any artists from Indonesia. Because they deserve a very special chapter of their own, a special 25-track compilation of Indonesian progressive jazz-fusion will be launched in January.)
The whole compilation has over three hrs of music and iis priced at only $1 (or more - whatever you would like to or can afford to pay) for 25 tunes. The tracks are downloadable in any (or all) of the following formats: MP3 320, FLAC, MP3 VBR (V0), AAC, Ogg Vorbis, or ALAC. If that list leaves you scratching your head, you probably want the default, MP3 320, which will play back beautifully in iTunes, Windows Media Player, your iPod, etc.

"Straight out of Art Blakey and Jeff Watts; Chris Massey loves a propulsive beat and knows how to sustain tension. "
- James Hale, DownBeat Magazine

"A powerhouse drummer-bandleader in the tradition of Art Blakey and Jeff "Tain" Watts"
- Bill Milkowski, JazzTimes Magazine

"For those who have an emphasis on the drums will love the way this guy plays, sometimes playing busy like an Elvin Jones but always dedicated in knowing how intense or delicate to play, like an Art Blakey or Brian Blade."
- John Book, This is Books Music

"Massey demonstrates a take-no-prisoners attitude and a willingness to explore different avenues of music with great attention to detail and a good balance between explosive, raw energy and musical restraint."- Dan Bilawsky, All About Jazz

"Musically, Massey's influences reside firmly in the advanced hardbop of the Blue Note Sixties, another common ground with (Wayne) Shorter. The cerebral connotation in the title and another commonality with Shorter comes through in Massey's clever compositions and arrangements."
- Derek Taylor, Master of a Small House

About Chris Massey

Chris Massey is a Spectra Jazz recording artist based out of New York City who is becoming a wildly talked about new breed of young talented player in the world of jazz. Drummer, composer and bandleader Massey produces a fire and forward momentum in his playing that is becoming a fresh sound in the scene today. During this time he was under the tutelage of local legend Shedrick Hobbs who had played with Charlie "Bird" Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, and many other jazz legends of the day. It was during this time where Chris learned that jazz was not a music genre but a state of consciousness. In 2003 Chris began performing with world renounced artists such as former Jazz Messenger Donald Harrison Jr. Since then he has performed with such renowned artists as Dave Holland, Joe Lovano, members of the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Birdland Big Band well as many other great players.

Among performing Chris is also coming into his own as a composer and arranger. Gaining inspiration from notable drummer-composers such as Brian Blade and Jeff "Tain" Watts; Chris has began composing his first works in early 2001 with his 1st recorded composition piece "Gotham Nights" performed in 2005. Chris also has been teaching lessons of all age varieties from the skill ranges of beginner to advanced college since 1998. Chris above all else is a modern drummer taught in the old tradition of swing; his ethos is to "put his sound" underneath a player and let the fire start to spread. He is currently residing in the New York City area and performing with/leading his modern jazz group "The Nue Jazz Project". He has performed in many venues across the city such as Smoke, Cleopatra's Needle, Smalls, Fat Cat, 55bar, The Garage, The Iridium and many others. His JazzTimes and Downbeat reviewed album "Vibrainium" is now on sale via iTunes, Amazon, and various other media outlets. Upcoming album "Whosoever" featuring Adam Larson (Tenor Sax), Benny Benack III (Trumpet), Willerm Delisfort (Piano), and Chris Talio (Bass) will be released in January of 2013 on Power Cosmic Records.

Mp3 Euro 9.00
Flac Euro 9.00
Riccardo Biancoli : drums
Paolo Birro : piano
Javier Girotto : soprano sax
Simone Guiducci : acoustic guitar Godin
Ares Tavolazzi : double bass
Abeat presenta un cd intitolato "my secret love".
My Secret Love (Sunny Fain/Paul Webster) Old Folks (Willard Robison) Aquarela do Brasil (Ary Barroso ) Quando (Pino Daniele) Nuages (Django Reinhardt) Ed io fra di voi (C.Aznavour).
