AJATON QUARTET - ELIXIR
Singer Mia Simanainen leads this unconventional group of top musicians into a fusion of baroque sounds and etherical jazz. Award winning keyboardist Kari Ikonen (making international headway with his own Kari Ikonen Trio) provides the space sounds with his moog while Mikko Perkola's viola da gamba counterpoints the music into the baroque era. The future meets the past.

Kari Ikonen is keeping busy this autumn season. His second release within six weeks sees him getting together with Noel Saizonou - originally from Benin, West Africa - a percussionist, singer and a true powerhouse on stage. Completing the trio is guitarist Petri Kautto whose rootsy guitar gives the trio its electric edge and blues tones.
