The free event — hosted at Wisner Park from 12 to 6 p.m. — focuses on
Dixieland jazz, the earliest style of the American genre that developed
in New Orleans. It combined earlier brass band marches, French
Quadrilles, ragtime and blues with collective, polyphonic improvisation.
