Cuba's International Jazz Festival Kicks off in Havana

Havana, Cuba, Dec 19.- The 29th International Festival Jazz Plaza 2013 kicks off on Thursday in Havana with a concert by Pianists Harold Lopez-Nussa from Cuba; Arturo O Farril, from the United States, and Adolfo Delgado, from Spain.

The Mella Theater, in downtown Havana, will host the opening concert of the festival, which is dedicated to the greatest figures of Cuban Jazz.

Musicians will come from Switzerland, The Netherlands, Argentina, Canada, Austria and the Bermudas islands. The Cuban participants include Bobby Carcaces, Joaquin Betancourt, Aldo Lopez-Gavila, Carlos Miyares, Ruy Lopez-Nussa and Yasek Manzano, among other jazz experts.

The Festival will hold its usual International Jazz Colloquium, which will focus on the history of the music genre in Cuba. (ACN)
