USA: Holiday CD with local artists to benefit area's needy

A trio of snow angels graces the cover art, but the tracks of dozens of the area's finest jazz artists make the deepest, most ringing impression on a new Christmas music CD.

Fourteen acts from Southwestern Indiana have recorded their jazz stylings of holiday favorites for "A Caring Community Christmas, Volume 2," the second Christmas music CD benefiting Evansville's homeless.

This year's CD features Bob Green ("Blue Carol"), Bookie & the Boobs ("Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer"), Emily Baxter ("What Child Is This?"), the After Hours Ensemble ("Let It Snow"), John Michael O'Leary ("A Night Like This"), Karen Ellerbrook ("God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"), Swan Dive ("Santa, Can't You Bring Me a Man?"), Jeff Harmon Jazz ("It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year"), DC & The 819 ("Silent Night"), Carl Rodenberg ("Glory Hallelujah to His Name"), JR & Danny Schembre ("Winter Wonderland"), Gina Moore ("Sweet Little Jesus Boy"), Barbara Santora & Jazzin' ("Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas") and the Glore Trio plus Two ("What Are You Doing This New Year's Eve").
