UK: Sixth annual Lockerbie Jazz Festival a huge success at weekend
BRITISH Jazz legend Acker Bilk took the sixth annual Lockerbie Jazz Festival by storm at the weekend.
The clarinetist performed with his Paramount Jazz Band to a delighted audience at Lockerbie Academy.
It was one of the highlights of a packed programme at this year’s jazz festival which also featured the popular jazz and blues band, Red Stripe and US saxaphone legend Houston Person.

In a celebration of jazz music and culture at the annual Jazz Treasures: Legacy, Legend & Heritage, Transart will honor the Brooklyn-born Weston, as well as Charenee Wade, and Dr. Robert O’Meally for their contributions to music at the Rotunda at Brooklyn Borough Hall on October 17. Enthusiastic Audience At EMC Jazz Concert
The Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Art's (EMC) School of Music on Saturday continued its concert series, celebrating its 50th anniversary with an evening of jazz featuring faculty members, graduates and special guest performers. The concert was held in the school's auditorium, which, in a brief ceremony before the show, was renamed the Vera Moody Concert Hall, in honour of the founder of the school.
