MANHATTAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC JAZZ ARTS announces 2011 – 2012 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS MSM EXPLORES “SOUND AND IMAGE”

July 22, 2011 – The Manhattan School of Music Jazz Arts Program, Justin DiCioccio, Associate Dean and Chair, announces its 2011-2012 Season Highlights. This year, MSM will be exploring the relationship of music to “sound and image” looking at collaborations between composers and visual artists to choreographers’ visions, from inspired pairing of music and text and to music’s subtle evocation of images.

In keeping with MSM’s “Sound and Image” programming theme for 2011-2012, the MSM Jazz Arts Vision concert series offers a vivid spectrum, with each concert presenting repertoire that was composed and/or arranged for a different visual performance setting: modern dance, film, the concert hall and the dance hall. All Jazz Arts Vision concerts are listed below in date order.
