UK: Hourglass, Norma Winstone, Gwilym on tour

Johannes Berauer's Hourglass
Basho Records will release “Hourglass”, created by genre-busting Austrian composer Johannes Berauer, on Friday 20th July 2018. The recording features virtuosi Thomas Gould (violin), Gwilym Simcock (piano), Mike Walker (guitar), Martin Berauer (bass) and Bernhard Schimpelsberger (drums, percussion and Konnakol). Hourglass will be on tour in early September to launch the new album.
Winstone/Gesing/Venier
Norma Winstone's fabulous trio will be visiting the UK for a whistle stop tour in late July.  They play Manchester Jazz Festival on 27th July, Ealing Jazz Festival on 29th, Pizza Express on 30th and Dorking Watermill on 31st.  In addition to the great Glauco Venier on piano and Klaus Gesing on reeds, the band will be joined by young rising star cellist Abel Selaocoe in Manchester and percussionist Helge Andreas Norbakken in London and Dorking.

Trish Clowes' My Iris
Trish Clowes' My Iris will be playing at Manchester Jazz Festival on Saturday 21st July.
An Evening with Pat Metheny
Gwilym Simcock will be on tour with Pat Metheny from 28th June in Europe and North America.
Ambleside Days
Hope you will be able to come to Ambleside days.  Tickets are selling fast for this unique event in the Lake District. Gwilym Simcock will be playing with a variety of different musicians every night over the four nights of the festival which runs from Thursday 30th August to Sunday 2nd September and will feature Hourglass on 1st September.
