Without a doubt Incognito is one of the finest soul-jazz bands of all time, with a total of 15 entries on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart and a further 10 entries on the Billboard R&B Albums chart. This 3-disc set (for $16.99) comprises the first three albums recorded by the band after parting company with Talkin Loud/Universal in 2003: Who Needs Love which includes a cameo from Brazil s Ed Motta, Adventures In Black Sunshine which includes a keyboard cameo from the late George Duke on Mindin My Business and features no fewer than seven vocal performances from Maysa, and Eleven, with guest vocalist Carleen Anderson in stunning form on Show Me Love .
Two previously unreleased tracks are added to Eleven - a fine remake of the Ned Doheny cult classic To Prove My Love and an extended workout on the funky Feel The Real, a major dance hit for David Bendeth in the late 70s. Additionally there is an added a bonus track to Who Needs Love - the Ski Oakenfull remix of Zaius, a jazz-funk instrumental classic originally released in 1976 by Eddie Russ.
