From Stardust to Sting and six original songs in between, this CD is modern jazz at its finest.
The superb musicianship features Dann Zinn on sax, and Taylor Eigsti on piano.
Dive into this newest CD by acclaimed tenor saxophonist and composer, Dann Zinn. His original songs blend with the artistry of his musicians to create a unique, world class jazz sound. Grace's Song is modern jazz at its finest, running the gamut from the beautifully arranged standard "Stardust," to Zinn's version of rock and roll's favorite Sting tune, "King of Pain," to Zinn's memorable and soaring melodies. He choses the best in the business to interpret his feel and concepts. Taylor Eigsti, world renowned piano phenom, John Shifflett, the ever creative bassist, and Alan Hall, outstanding and dynamic drummer.

While not his first CD, Grace's Song is Zinn's debut of the The Dann Zinn 4. The CD starts with Live and Learn, a 3/4 swing homage to Bob Berg. The song is melodic, intense, and memorable. Western Skies opens with a bang. The electric sax and high energy sounds are intoxicating. Grace's Song is a beautiful gospel tune with a powerful, emotional, dynamic, and soulful feel, featuring gorgeous bass and brilliant piano playing. Jumpstep jumps out at you with ferocity and passion. Dann's reworking of the modern classic "King of Pain" gives it a moody, dark, ECMish feel. Corazon is a Latin, funk tune with a twist. Dann and Taylor take burning solos. Red Rover puts a melodic spin on this technically demanding, free jazz tune with Alan Hall providing some of the most intense drumming on the CD. The album wraps up with a quiet reading of the timeless classic, Stardust.
