Part of the Annual Nilsson lecture in Contemporary
Drama and Literature, a brief panel discussion will be followed by a
special performance of Dylan Thomas' beloved tale, A Child’s Christmas
In Wales, brought to life like an old time radio show and set to live,
improvised jazz. Featuring original music by Suzi Stern (vocals, text)
and Rich Harney,(piano), the expressive improvisations of Alex Coke
(woodwinds, fascinating toys, and sound effects), and the soulful bass
of Buddy Mohmed.

Nii Noi Nortey's African Sound Project
From Accra, Ghana, sculptor, afrifone inventor, and multi-instrumentalist Nii Noi Nortey returns to Outpost for the first time since Fall 2007, when his Accra Trane Station project was featured alongside the late great Rashied Ali.
Nii Noi will perform on African flutes, xylophones, mbiras, harps, and lutes, as well as his unique afrifones (African winds with saxophone mouthpieces).
