JAZZ.FM91 President and CEO Ross Porter, announced the 2012 lineup of JAZZ LIVES – the biggest annual concert and fundraising event for the broadcast enterprise – to be held on Wednesday, April 25th at the prestigious Koerner Hall, at The Telus Centre for Performance and Learning.
Headlining this year’s 8th edition of JAZZ LIVES are Ramsey Lewis, who has recorded over 80 albums and has been awarded 7 gold records and 3 Grammy awards; John Scofield,
one of the top guitarists in jazz who has played with Miles Davis,
Charles Mingus and Pat Metheny among others; Canadian singer-songwriter
and Juno award nominee Jill Barber; LA-based Tom Scott, considered one of the top studio musicians in the world; American jazz vocalist Curtis Stigers; Toronto’s own The Heavyweights Brass Band who merge the traditional sounds of New Orleans with pop and rock to come up with a one of a kind sound; the JAZZ.FM91 Youth Big Band; and Musical Director for the evening, Lou Pomanti.JAZZ.FM91
