COLOMBIA: Cartagena celebrates jazz music festival

Colombia's gorgeous coastal city of Cartagena celebrates music with its 31st annual Jazz Music Festival ongoing until November 26.
Fifteen different artists and groups are being featured in the event this year, that began on November 5. The city's new auditorium El Batel, and the Nuevo Circo Theater will be the main stages for the jazz performances held as part of the festival.
Tonight, Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto will be showcased as the amphitheater's first musical performance, alongside musicians Jaques Morelenbaum and Judy Kang, starting at 9:30PM. On Friday, Dee Dee Bridgewater will being playing a set at El Batel, titled "To Billie with Love- A Celebration of 'Lady Day'," accompanied by Lizz Wright at 9:30PM.
On Saturday, McCoy Tyner Trio will be performing with Jose James and Chris Potter in their "Contemporary Exploration of John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman." Their show also starts at 9:30PM and the group will be followed up with a show by Madeline Peyroux. On Sunday, the Pat Metheny Trio will be playing at 8PM with Larry Grenadier and Bill Steward.
The festival ends Saturday November 26, with a grand finale show by the Fleet Foxes and Vetiver at the Batel auditorium.
