New Bedford JazzFest Announces Lineup
NEW BEDFORD MASS. (October 26, 2022) New Bedford JazzFest (NBJF) proudly announces its 10th Anniversary concert of regional and national jazz, on Sunday, November 6, from 2:00-6:00 pm (doors open at 1:00 pm). New Bedford JazzFest features four bands, and full bar and pub food available for purchase.
The event takes place at Kilburn Mill, 127 West Rodney French Boulevard
. The bands scheduled to perform are: Bill Pierce Quartet, Becky Bass, Southcoast Jazz Orchestra, and The Hot Club Cheese Roll Band. Tickets are $25 in advance, and $35 at the door and are available at (link here) or by calling the Your Theatre Box Office at (508) 993-0772.
Seating is General Admission for all tickets.
The event is a rain or shine fully indoor event. Proof of COVID-19 vaccine or negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of show required at door. After careful consideration of our guests, artists and staff we require that you provide the above documentation and ID for attendance to our event. Guests under 21 allowed when accompanied by a 21+ adult.
The Bill Pierce Quartet features local sax legend Bill Pierce. Pierce was a Berklee College of Music faculty member for more than four decades and has performed with some of the indisputable masters of jazz—Freddie Hubbard, Tony Williams, Art Farmer, Hank Jones, James Williams, Kevin Eubanks, Branford Marsalis, Wynton Marsalis, and Art Blakey.
Becky Bass, hailing from St.Croix, US Virgin Islands, is a renowned vocalist, steel drummer & actor. Becky is a two-time New England Urban Music Award winner. Becky’s amazing voice has graced the National Gallery of Art’s Jazz in the Garden concert series, as well as New York City’s Lincoln Center.
The SouthCoast Jazz Orchestra is New Bedford’s house band. Their repertoire ranges from classic big band tunes to contemporary jazz orchestra literature and new compositions. This 17 piece band will make your ears happy and your heart sing.
The Hot Club Cheese Roll Band has been playing gigs and concerts regularly in the New Bedford area in the years since their founding in 2016, most frequently appearing at nearly monthly jazz brunches at The Inn on Shipyard Park in Mattapoissett, and frequently playing other venues and special events.
