(i) This is a casual half-minute clip of me coming out of my flute solo on "Poinciana" at the 2018 Jazz.FM91 'Jazz Lives' concert at Koerner Hall (with Lou Pomanti on piano, Marc Rogers on bass, Eric St. Laurent on guitar and Mark Kelso on drums):(ii) This is a casual one-and-a-half minute clip of the opening chorus on "Willow Weep For Me" with Steve Farrugia’s band at the Thornhill Pub (including Mike Allen on guitar, Ken McDonald on bass and Steve on drums):(iii) This is a complete and well-produced six-and-a-half minute take from a live gig with The Louis Simao Group at The Jazz Room in Kitchener/Waterloo earlier this year (with David French on tenor, Rich Brown on bass, Marito Marques on drums, Maninho Costa on percussion and, of courseLouis on voice/piano). (For those interested in the flute portion, that runs from about 2:15 to 3:15.)
(2) AN AMAZING TURKISH DRUMMER!
This is a short but complete 2-minute clip of a genuinely remarkable performance by hand drummer, Birgarip Yolcu Ezgi Elkırmış (…and on every musical dimension!…)
