Piston's debut album is all about jazzfusion. The inspiration for the
Helsinki-based band's music comes from the classic recordings of the
genre (Weather Report, Chick Corea). The fans of the 70's and 80's
american westcoast-type sound will propably like Natural Engine, too
(think early Robben Ford, Larry Carlton). Piston was formed while
making television show, The Voice, while when during a break, Tuomo
Dahlblom (guitar), Lasse Piirainen (Keyboards) and Anssi Nykänen
(Drums), jammed briefly. It was then when they decided to write new
music and soon they asked Juho Kivivuori (bass) and Mongo Aaltonen
(percussion) to join the group.
