USA: Wayne Bergeron-Full Circle(2016)

Wayne Bergeron | Full Circle

Wayne Bergeron’s newest release, "Full Circle," features the some of finest, most- recorded musicians in the world. Bergeron's previous CDs, Grammy nominated, "You Call This a Living?," and Concord Records release, "Plays Well With Others," have both received critical acclaim from reviewers and jazz fans alike.

Producer Gary Grant had this to say:
"Full Circle is the third Wayne Bergeron CD that I have co-produced, and I must say, Wayne's best effort to date. Wayne's growth has exploded over the past 10 years in every aspect. While Wayne characteristically hoists huge upper register notes, his lower register sound is just as big and sensitive. Wayne’s musicianship, jazz playing, harmonic creativity, and musical expression make him a natural phenomenon. It's been a joy to be associated with this epic CD."

In addition to the core members of the Wayne Bergeron Big Band, “Full Circle” also features an array of special guests such as Arturo Sandoval, Peter Erskine, Dave Weckl, Eric Marienthal, Alan Pasqua, Bob Sheppard, Jimmy Johnson, Chuck Berghofer, Gary Meek, and The Hornheads. In addition, band members Dan Higgins, Andy Martin, Bill Reichenbach, and Christian Jacob are featured prominently. A string section of top-call session players adds a touch of elegance to tracks, “Theme From Chinatown” and “Wayn-ology.”

The incredible compositions/arrangements for “Full Circle” were custom written for the CD, with the exception of the title track, “Full Circle.” This chart was originally written for the late Maynard Ferguson by Wally Minko but never recorded or performed until now. Composers Sammy Nestico, Gordon Goodwin, Chris Walden, George Stone, Wally Minko, Dan Higgins, Bill Riechenbach and Michael B. Nelson all brought their “A” game to this project.
