Rolf Sturm’s guitar playing has earned the praise of Joe Pass, Jim Hall, John Abercrombie, and Bill Frisell. Rolf has performed and/or recorded with Tony Trischka, Loudon Wainwright, Dave Douglas, Billy Martin, David Johansen, Eddy Arnold, Bob Mintzer, Maggie Roche, Jorma Kaukonen, and members of the Grateful Dead. He also co-leads the NYC trio Tricycle and is a member of the Strike Anywhere Performance Ensemble.

Rolf has toured North America and Europe, performing at the World EXPO 2000 in Hannover, Germany. He has performed at Lincoln Center and Town Hall in NYC, at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC and at dozens of festivals including the JVC Jazz Festival, the Boston Folk Festival, the Syracuse Jazz Festival, Ripplefest, Music On The Mountain Festival, and the Toronto Jazz Festival. He has performed on soundtracks for both film and television and has had his music featured on NPR’s “All Songs Considered”. "Balance" is Rolf's third solo acoustic guitar recording on the Water Street Music label (www.waterstreetmusic.org).
