In the spirit of fairness and democracy, we are asking fans of NYC jazz artists who have performed in NYC in the past year, to logon to this website, nominate and vote for their favorite jazz artists. The categories cover a wide range of styles and specialties. We hope you help us celebrate and acknowlege the hard working performers we so love and appreciate at venues around NYC.
The 4th annual "Fans Decision Jazz Awards Night", Monday September 19 at 7pm
Metropolitan Room and Hot House Jazz Magazine continue their tradition of honoring new and seasoned NYC Jazz musicians with their compelling awards voted by loyal NYC Jazz fans. Gwen Kelley, publisher of Hot House and Bernie Furshpan, owner of Metropolitan Room will open and welcome the artists and guests.
The 4th annual "Fans Decision Jazz Awards Night" will be hosted by singer, musician, and performer, Antoinette Montague. Montague has worked extensively in the New York area throughout the past decade with such musicians as Bill Easley, Norman Simmons, Winard Harper, Wycliffe Gordon, Frank Wess, the Duke Ellington Orchestra and Mike Longo's New York State of the Arts Orchestra. This ceremony will be honor Robin Bell-Stevens, CEO and Exec Dir of Jazzmoblie Inc with additional special awards to Spike Wilner and The Leonharts and a lifetime achievement to Bucky Pizzarelli. Greats of jazz such as Ron Carter, Lew Tabackin, Paquito D’Rivera, Catherine Russell and more will share the stage.
