Greg
Sundel began studying drumset and percussion at age 7, by 15 was
apprenticing with drumset legend Joe Morello, and by 17 performed with
jazz great Joshua Redman. By age 20, he was touring regularly with hip
hop group Cosmic Ghetto with Ahmed Best, and had performed/recorded with
pop icons Lauryn Hill and Billy Corgan. From there, he moved on to
recording theme songs for the Fox News
Network, and working with jazz luminaries such as Vic Juris, Greg
Murphy, Andy Mckee, Bob Ackerman and Dan Kostelnik. Currently he records
and performs with Pam Purvis and the Blue Skies Band, Mickey Freeman,
Groove Apparatus, and with his own group which is the house jazz band at

Greg
is a well-known author who has written three drum
instruction books. All are available world-wide through Blue Truffle
Music, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and many other retailers, and are top
sellers on Amazon’s charts for music instruction books. Currently he
writes for Modern Drummer Magazine, and free-lances for other
publications. He is a well-known educator in the New York/New Jersey
area, and teaches at the New Jersey School of Percussion in West Orange
New Jersey. He endorses Amedia Cymbals, GMS drums and Aquarian
Drumheads.
