USA: What's behind Cynthia Basinet's sultry "Santa Baby and it's was never Marilyn Monroe?

The actress singer, Cynthia Basinet's sultry jazzy pop "Santa Baby"
has fans and radio worldwide once again attributing the critically
acclaimed vocalist to the playfulness of Marilyn, who never recorded
the song.

Cynthia recorded her version tributing Eartha Kitt as a gift to her
love, Jack Nicholson during his "As Good As It Gets" Oscar campaign in
1997 with two other songs, "Someone To Watch Over Me" and "Just" as a
Christmas Card CD for her industry friends and Hollywood's movers and
shakers.

"At the time was being told Hollywood wasn't making musicals and
actors weren't crossing over to music," explains Cynthia "then in 1999
started my indie record label, Welcome To Dreamsville Records and
launched via the MP3 internet revolution to help raise awareness for
the genre I love so much and as a gift to the World akin to the Coke
commercials of my youth. In less than six weeks songs sung originally
as love songs were now as popular as Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Al
Jarraeu, Harry Connick Jr, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Peggy Lee."

Cynthia's "Santa Baby" has since appeared in soundtracks most
recently, CBS's "NCIS Los Angeles" and the indie cult classic, "Party
Monster" with Macaulay Culkin.

Her style and easy, breasy sound has influenced artists across genres
from Taylor Swift, Kylie Minogue, Michael Buble, Renee Fleming, Tamar
Braxton, Diana Krall, Pink Martini, to ABC's Nashville and FOX's
Glee.

Also a mom, Cynthia has used this ability to raise awareness for a
multitude of causes including refugees; visiting Saharwian refugee
camps in 2001 and has addressed the UN on issues of
self-determination. In 2005, she was nominated for a shared Nobel
Peace Prize with "1000 PeaceWomen Across The Globe" for reconciliation
and reconstruction.

Recently, the actress.singer appeared on Bravo's "Untying the Knot".

"Santa Baby" and her 'warm, elegant, delighful' Holiday classic, "The
Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)" arranged by Lee
Musiker, as were "Cry Me A River" and "It's Only A Paper Moon" can be
found on Cynthia's full length CD, "The Standard" containing 11
Standard gems available on iTunes and Amazon and can also be heard via
apps Spotify, Live365.com, Yahoo, Rdio, Pandora, Shazam.

Give the gift of music and share memories that last a lifetime.
