Intimate and grand: the new album of the Isabelle van Keulen Ensemble 'Grand Tango!'
The second tango album of the Isabelle van Keulen
Ensemble is here! The album is exactly as its title suggests: it is
grand! Of course this title points directly to Le Grand Tango by
Piazzolla, for which bandoneon player Christian Gerber made a special
and beautiful arrangement for the line up of bandoneon, violin, piano
and double bass.
Since the formation of the ensemble and the release of the first album in 2013, the Isabelle van Keulen Ensemble made several international tours. Because of this touring togther, the four musicians became a very close unity and they could dive even deeper into the soul of Piazzolla's tango. This second cd Grand Tango! makes this very clear: it is bolder, more sensual and even warmer than the debut album!
Isabelle van Keulen has been in love with the music of Piazzolla since she was six years old and that love she can totally express in playing this music, together with Christian Gerber on bandoneon, Ulrike Payer on piano and Rüdiger Ludwig on double bass.
There are a couple of release concerts coming up of Grand Tango!
* October 14 - Terneuzen (the Netherlands) - Grote Kerk - 20.00 hours
* October 13 - Luzern - Panoramasaal
* November 7 - Bad Zwesten - Kurhaussaal - 19.30 hours
The ensemble will play new material from the Grand Tango album: Le grand tango (arr. Christian Gerber)

On November 8th the ensemble will perform in the classical TV show Podium Witteman, live at NPO1, Dutch National Television.
