Özkan Yalkinoglu, Eckhard Freund & Arto Tuncboyaciyan - Inspirations (Yaboa Music 2014)

Özkan Yalkinoglu and Eckhard Freund, both inspired by their mutual love to acoustic guitars and multi-ethnic musical styles met 1992 in Cologne. As a result of their creative collaboration, the current production "Inspirations"represents the high art of virtuoso and manifold unplugged duo-guitar playing, which is supported by the exceptional Armenian percussionist Arto Tuncboyaciyan, - also known from numerous collaborations with Joe Zawinul, Al di Meola, Ralph Towner and many other exceptional artists. The music on "Inspirations" is a phenomenal kaleidoscope of styles amalgamating North American modern Jazz, Brazilian Samba, european traditions such as classical and flamenco guitar together with oriental influences. Flowing melodies and improvisations combined with varied harmonies and interesting rhythms are joined together to a set of outstanding compositions enriched with smooth percussions by Arto Tuncboyaciyan.
