Gregor Frei ASMIN - Sands of silence (2013)

ASMIN’s music is full of strong emotions and good taste. It took me to wonderful musical places, says Jeff Ballard, drummer of the Brad Mehldau Trio after listening to the new record. Since 2006 Gregor Frei discovers with his ensemble the boarders of jazz. His lyrical and powerful compositions fascinate in Switzerland and abroad. After the first studio album Land of Refuge as a sextet and the song record Roots of A Weightless Soul as a septet a live CD is coming as a quintet; recorded in video and audio in a burned out church in St. Gallen. The new work Sands of Silence is pure music with genres aside - fresh, thrilling and forward-looking.
