Gwilym starts a week's residency at the Pizza Express Dean Street this Friday with the first three days in the last three days of the London Jazz Festival.
Every night Gwilym will be playing with different European guests and it will be a fun packed week with great singers Norma Winstone, Liane Carroll and Natalie Williams, fellow pianist Michael Wollny, brilliant guitarists Wolfgang Muthspiel, Chris Montague, Femi Temowo, Ant Law, amazing saxophonists Tim Garland, Julian Arguelles and Trish Clowes and that's without mentioning any of the stunning rhythm sections with bassists Malcolm Creese and Jasper Hoiby and drummers Martin France, Ernesto Simpson, Asaf Sirkis and Josh Blackmore.

Gwilym Simcock’s Eurozone with Wolfgang Muthspiel

This is Gwilym’s second gig at Dean Street with
internationally acclaimed Austrian guitarist / composer, Wolfgang
Muthspiel. Drawing on both jazz and classical influences, Muthspiel -
like Simcock - combines dazzling technique with musical risk taking
and eclectic taste. They are joined by the brilliant Danish bassist
Jasper Hoiby and rising star drummer Josh Blackmore.
