Equinox - Face the music (2013)

Equinox’s new CD “Face the music” is set to be released in September 2013. The album and accompanying DVD feature all band members in a wide ranging program filled with a colorful mix of deep grooves, sophisticated improvisation, lyrical melodies, funky rhythms, rootsy blues, lush ballads and exciting, high energy swinging. “Face the music” combines new original works and arrangements tailored to the group’s sound with fresh explorations of lesser known jazz gems. In addition, South African singer Tutu Puoane joins the band on one track, a lovely ballad written by piano great Stanley Cowell with lyrics by Dan Nicholas.

In support of the release of “Face the Music,” Equinox will celebrate with a launch party in the Hague’s Dr. Anton Phillipszaal, followed by a tour of the UK and Ireland culminating in London’s world renowned jazz club Ronnie Scott’s. Tour dates to follow.
