CHRISTOPH BUSSE QUARTET - The Little Blue (LAIKA 2013)

According to the press, pianist Christoph Busse “is one of the best modern jazz piano players in Germany today.”
After his top score exam at Hilversum Conservatory of Music (NL), Christoph Busse worked as sideman to, among others, Gunther Hampels in the band "Next Generation" (Hiphop-Jazz) from 1995-96, before establishing his own trio in 1998.
The Christoph Busse Trio draws on the whole bandwith of stylistic possibilities in jazz. Its repertoire includes both original compositions and rarely performed, newly arranged works by other musicians. Christoph has a special preference for ballads, and these are always a highlight of his live performances. His current programme features songs by Sting / The Police and Donald Fagen, which he has arranged to match the jazz line-up.
With Sebastian Hoffmann on the electric bass and Thomas Hempel on drums, The Christoph Busse Trio features two of the most experienced musicians in the German jazz scene.
Let yourself be drawn into the pure joy of playing and experimenting that these three award-winning musicians have captured in the two CDs they have issued to date. Their debut CD “Last Miles” appeared in 2003. and “A Message in A Bottle” was released after the Trio played its latest interpretations to enthusiastic audiences at the International Baku Jazz Festival in Azerbaijan in April 2005. "A Message In A Bottle" features compositions by Sting and Donald Fagen. 2009 the album "Awakening" was released and in 2012 he founded his quartet with Omar Rodriguez Calvo on bass, Nene Vasquez (percussion) and Stephan Emig on drums. 2013 the album "the little blue" was released.LAIKA
