JOE SAMPLE STARS ON THIS WEEK’S
12th STREET JUMP, PUBLIC RADIO’S WEEKLY JAZZ, BLUES & COMEDY JAM
Jazz Crusaders founder and Grammy nominated pianist and composer Joe Sample tears it up on this week’s 12th STREET JUMP, public radio’s weekly jazz, blues and comedy jam. Heard each week on forty-six stations around the country, 12th STREET JUMP is one of America’s most popular live jazz radio shows. Ask your local public radio station to check it out on PRX or Content Depot.

“We had a great time with Joe on the show,” commented 12SJ host Pete Weber. ”He played several of his biggest hits, including Street Life, It Happens Every Day and Put It Where You Want. He and 12SJ musical director Joe Cartwright go at it on the Horace Silver tune Nica’s Dream. And our vocalists Nedra Dixon and David Basse had a ball covering One Day I’ll Fly Away and Soul Shadows, two more Joe Sample hits.

12th STREET JUMP’s tribute to Joe Sample can be heard on-line on most of its affiliate stations; for a listing, check out the show’s website at www.12thstreetjump.com. Here’s a sample of stations and broadcast times this week (now thru April 7); all times are EDT:
