Philippe Laloy - Kind of Pink (Home Records 2013)

Kind of Pink, the dark side of Pink Floyd.
The musical universe of Philippe Laloy, eclectic flutist and saxophonist, is situated on the crossroads of jazz, world music, rock and classical music. Laloy rediscovers the hidden treasures of a timeless repertoire: Dark Side of the Moon, of course, but also Meddle, Wish you were here, The Wall… He is accompanied by two musicians who contribute their own personal elements to this re-lecture: Arne Van Dongen (double bass), belonging to classical music and free improvisation, and Manu Baily (guitar), a ‘complete’ musician, familiar with improvisation and mixture of styles. The acoustic trio presents a novel and pruned version of the Floydish universe.
