After a busy 2012 year recording and touring Canada and France, french bass player &composer Olivier Babaz presents "Midnight Cafeine", his debut trio album.
Born in Paris and raised in France and Netherlands, the musician then lived five years in Reunion Island, Indian ocean, playing jazz and music from Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion and East Africa. Following his 2009 settlement in Montreal, Canada, he founded Akoz Duo, aDouble bass and Viola Duo for which he composed music for the album "La Lune de Kala".
"Midnight Cafeine" consists of ten trio compositions reflecting the variety of influences and experiences nurturing his artistic jouney. The music showcases three promising instrumentalists with distinct individualities and backgrounds.
